Jebediah formed in May 1995, in their final year at Leeming High School in Perth, Western Australia, but with another drummer, Almin Fulurija, who was replaced by Kevin’s brother Brett because Almin didn’t turn up to practice.

Jebediah got their name from Jebediah Springfield, the founder of Springfield in the Simpsons.

The band's first gig ever was at the Leeming Senior High School Year 12 ball at The Sheraton, where they played covers by bands such as Green Day and the Smashing Pumpkins, and one original. Jebediah's 7th gig took out the Western Australian Semi-Finals of the 1995 National Campus Band competition, and with their 13th gig ever they took out the national title of the competition in Lismore, New South Wales.

In April 1996, Jebediah signed to murmur (home of silverchair, Ammonia and Something For Kate) in April 1996, immediately undertaking the first of many exhaustive national tours.

They released "Twitch", the band’s debut release in August 1996, and it debuted at Number 1 in the WA charts. Not surprising, since the band was already huge in their home state, but much more was to follow. Jebediah's first big hit, "Jerks Of Attention", was released as a single five months later, in January 1997 and it debuted at Number 11 on the national indie charts.

Following tours with the likes of the Presidents of the USA and Everclear, Jebediah's debut album, "Slightly Odway"; was released, in September 1997. Debuting at Number 7 on the national ARIA charts, and went Platinum (70,000 copies) containing thirteen tracks plus a secret track (an encore of the chorus of the final track, "La Di Da Da", which features the vocal from the members of local bands Fur and Sandpit). It was recorded at Sing Sing Studios, in Melbourne, with Rancid and Elvis Costello producer Neil King.

Jebediah are constantly touring, and 1998 proved no different. They had regular appearances at the Aussie rock festivals such as The Big Day Out, Pushover, Livid, Mudslinger and Homebake, and regular live appearances on the ABC's (now defunct) Recovery, plus the now renowned "Split Personalities" tour with The Living End throughout April, In May they were at the Big Wet Benefit concert, for the victims of the Katherine floods. Aussie folk legend Slim Dusty supported the guys for this show. At the Tibetan Freedom Concert, held in Sydney in June 1999, Jebediah teamed up with local heroes The Living End, Spiderbait and You Am I.

In early 1999 they recorded their much-anticipated 2nd album titled "Shit Sandwich", later renamed "Of Someday Shambles" before it was released, also at Sing Sing. With Blink 182’s producer Mark Trombino at the helm, the Jebs couldn't help but be influenced by his expertise The finished product, polished off with resident artiste Ben Steele's artwork (including a cover consisting of a BMX race ... without the bikes!) and photography by Carla Steele and Reg Sargeant, was released on November 1st, 1999, debuting at number 2 on the ARIA charts and achieving gold status (35,000 copies) in its first week of release and has now also gone Platinum, with 3 singles released from Of Someday Shambles ('Animal', 'Feet Touch The Ground' and 'Please Leave', which was released as two versions), 'Star Machine' on radio play.

During the Aussie Winter (2000), the Jebs toured the U.S and Canada, where the signed a record deal with 'Big Wheel Rec' and the teamed up with 'Jimmy Eat World' to release a Split EP. Now they're back in Australia touring the country on their 'Home Sweet Home' tour. They have just Released 'Jebediaries' which is the story of Jebediah from the mid 90's to today, it includes videoclips, instudio footage and more.
